Senior Civil Engineer (12+ yrs)

Job Description

Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager – San Diego office. A highly skilled, self‑motivated, technically minded professional with twelve+ years of experience in structural design and project management.

Compensation and Benefits

• Expected Base Salary: $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 depending on education, experience, and licensure.
• Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate.
• Competitive end‑of‑year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance.
• Hybrid work schedule (subject to change).
• 401(k) with maximum of 5% Contribution Matching with 9% Employee Contribution.

Responsibilities

• Perform project management duties and oversee structural analysis, design, and detailing on a variety of projects.
• Collaborate with the architect, owner, and contractor to provide a well‑coordinated and high‑quality set of structural drawings.
• Lead and manage a team of engineers, designers, and drafters to execute structural designs.
• Meet with the project team to ensure effective communication flow during design.
• Interface with the contractor during construction to ensure positive results with minimum complications.
• Manage profitability of projects and maintain a working relationship with clients.

Qualifications

• Experience with structural computer analysis software systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
• Experience with the latest release of Autodesk Revit design tools.
• Ability to build and maintain a strong team of professionals and support staff within a cooperative multidisciplinary office performing at a high level of satisfaction to clients.
• Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities.
• Excellent leadership, supervisory, and writing and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
• Comfortable consulting to architectural practices.

Education and Experience

• Master's degree in structural engineering preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience with the structural design of buildings or similar structures.
• Licensed California Civil (PE) required.
• Licensed California Structural Engineer (SE) preferred.
