Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale.The Role:We are seeking two exceptional candidates to join the Vehicle Dynamics and Chassis Controls team as Senior Calibration Technical Specialists at GM's Milford Proving Ground.

One role will be as a Diagnostics Calibration Technical Specialist, with potential areas of ownership including AWD, Driveline, Trailering, State Estimation, and Chassis ECUs. The other Technical Specialist will be responsible for Trailer Braking and Driver Mode Control Calibration. Calibration Technical Specialists are responsible for indirectly leading a team of Active Chassis Calibration Engineers to produce high-quality, on-time deliverables for all vehicle programs using common methods, processes, and procedures. The selected candidate will also have a unique opportunity to influence and develop future Active Chassis architectures and controls strategies.

The ideal candidate should possess comprehensive experience in both calibration and algorithm development, as well as demonstrated leadership, planning, communication, teamwork, and prioritization skills.As an Active Sr. Chassis Calibration Technical Specialist you will:Provide technical leadership for calibration within the product area and serve as the voice of calibration into architecture, software, and program teamsDevelop common approaches and institutionalize them in Calibration Standard Work (Calibration Procedures, Deliverables, Master Calibration, etc.)Improve the efficiency and quality of standard work by systematically driving present vehicle-based tasks into virtual (HiL, SiL, CoSim packages)Mentor Calibration Engineers, providing technical training and establishing good communication and knowledge-sharingSupport Calibration Engineers to ensure high-quality, on-time deliveries and flawless launchesCollaborate closely with software/controls engineers to understand system functionsCollaborate with calibration engineers to troubleshoot and resolve calibration- and software-related issues that arise during development and productionSupport and approve software change requests related to your product areaSupport technical calibration peer reviews and leadership reviewsLead the Calibration Technical Review Board (TRB): set agenda, drive decisions, track actions, and ensure issues and lessons learned feed back into methods and standards.Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications):BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similarMinimum 4 years of relevant engineering experience (vehicle dynamics, chassis/driveline performance, brake controls, diagnostics calibration, calibration, etc.)Demonstrated initiative to drive for results in areas of innovation and new developmentThorough physics-based knowledge of vehicle dynamics, brake systems, tire performanceDemonstrated ability to lead, coordinate and motivate the performance of a cross-functional team and achieve substantial influence without administrative authorityExercise independent judgment with minimal input from leadersHigh level of analytical problem-solving skills where problems are unusual and difficultStrong understanding of C/C++ software development principles and practicesStrong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environmentStrong experience with Matlab/Simulink and Virtual development tools/environmentsFluent with in-vehicle development tools (INCA, NeoVI, etc.)GM Level 3 (or ability to qualify), including comfort with test driving for development and validationWhat Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Skills):MS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similarExperience working in multiple functional areas within controls/calibration/diagnostics, especially across brake, chassis, and driveline domainsExperience developing/executing GM standard calibration processes, including Cal Check/Cal Guides, DOEs, and milestone reviewsHigh level of oral and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain complex diagnostic or feature behaviors, trade-offs, and decisions to both technical and leadership audiences.SPONSORSHIP: GM DOES NOT PROVIDE IMMIGRATION-RELATED SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS ROLE.
