Temporary 4-Month Assignment | Healthcare | Hybrid - San Juan, PR

SmartLogix is seeking a fully bilingual Senior Business Process Improvement Consultant for a temporary, full-time assignment supporting a client in the healthcare insurance industry.

The selected consultant will analyze, document, design, and improve business and technology-enabled processes across multiple departments. This role requires strong experience in business process improvement, project management, process documentation, operational excellence, and stakeholder management.

  • Assignment type: Temporary, full-time
  • Duration: Approximately four months
  • Expected period: August 31, 2026, through December 31, 2026
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, approximately 40 hours per week
  • Work arrangement: Hybrid, approximately 1-4 days per week onsite
  • Language requirement: Fully bilingual in English and Spanish

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze current business and technology processes to identify inefficiencies, risks, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Document current-state and future-state processes, workflows, procedures, policies, guidelines, and templates.
  • Facilitate interviews, discovery sessions, workshops, and process-design meetings with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Apply process-mapping, quality-assurance, and continuous-improvement methodologies.
  • Define process metrics, KPIs, controls, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Lead or support cross-functional and multi-departmental process-improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare project plans, presentations, recommendations, status reports, risk reports, and executive-level communications.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation, system enhancements, and improved integration between business and technology teams.
  • Manage project risks, issues, priorities, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Support process validation, implementation readiness, change-management activities, and post-implementation issue resolution.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deliverables in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may be considered. Minimum of five years of progressive experience in business process improvement, project management, business analysis, operational excellence, or process transformation.

  • Experience leading or supporting cross-functional and multi-departmental initiatives.
  • Strong experience developing process maps, workflows, procedures, policies, and business documentation.
  • Experience with project planning, risk management, issue management, and stakeholder reporting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, facilitation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and project-tracking tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar project-management platforms.
  • Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Availability to work onsite in San Juan as required.
  • Availability for the complete four-month assignment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, health insurance, managed care, or payer operations.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, or health-plan operations.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent training.
  • Experience with methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, SIPOC, BPMN, ITIL, COBIT, or CMMI.
  • Experience supporting technology implementations, operational transformations, or organizational change initiatives.
  • Experience working within a Project Management Office or enterprise transformation environment.
