Senior Business Analyst - Richmond, Virginia

Morton is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for a 12-month onsite contract in Richmond, VA (potential extensions). You will lead requirements, process re-engineering, vendor/supplier coordination, and testing/UAT for COTS/SaaS implementations in an Agile/Waterfall/Hybrid environment. This role is fully onsite and requires deep expertise in business process modeling, systems integration, and end-to-end testing oversight.

Responsibilities

• Lead review, analysis, and evaluation of current business systems and user requirements
• Perform gap analysis and re‑engineer business processes to align with new system capabilities
• Elicit and document functional and non‑functional requirements (brainstorming, interviews, data mining, document analysis)
• Create and maintain traceability matrices and process flow diagrams
• Coordinate and document communications between project teams, interface partners, and suppliers
• Identify opportunities to replace existing software/processes with new applications and business processes
• Ensure supplier deliverables align with documented requirements and project schedules
• Conduct QA and testing oversight; write and review test plans
• Develop and distribute management reports on testing progress, risks, and issues
• Produce comprehensive requirement artifacts (use cases, business rules, interface requirements, activity diagrams, wireframes, test cases, traceability matrices, error validations)
• Define roles and access rights; manage user profile security
• Support and lead UAT in collaboration with QA teams and business stakeholders
• Provide training and support for end users during system rollout

Requirements

• 10+ years of business analysis experience, including COTS and SaaS implementations
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid development methodologies
• Proficiency with UML and business analysis tools
• Hands‑on experience with JIRA
• Understanding of systems architecture, APIs, and databases
• Experience across all phases of testing from planning through execution
• Strong proficiency in business process modeling, system integration, and SaaS/cloud‑based implementations
