Job Description

Job Summary:

Lead registrar operations including enrolmentservices, academic planning, technology solutions implementation,and policy development.

Job-Specific Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key business process and student systems liaison toour constituents including Harvard University InformationTechnology (HUIT), Harvard College, and the Griffin Graduate Schoolof Arts and Science (GSAS); guide and prioritize reinvention ofexisting processes across all sub-units in the FAS Registrar'sOffice including Academic Planning, Enrollment Services, andInformation & Records Management In collaboration with the Registrar leadership team, contribute tothe unit's overall strategic plan; propose robust solutions to FAScomplex business needs; Serve as point of escalation for review of data requests related tostudent records and course information; conduct data reporting andanalysis across registrar portfolios; develop expertise regardingsecurity roles and access to student informationsystems;
  • provide support for EMS room reservation system
  • Serve as primary facilitator of critical training for newemployees and advise Business Analysts (BA) in the Registrar'sOffice on data governance best practices across teams; conductcollaborative Registrar Business Analyst peer group meetings andsupport mentorship opportunities
  • Lead complex user acceptance testing efforts for the studentinformation system and other processes. Ensure that documentation,configuration, and testing of enhancements and fixes meetestablished deadlines.
  • Act as dedicated Business Analyst for Academic Planning unitneeds regarding reporting, process reinvention, student informationsystems training

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Minimum of 7 years’ relevant work experience

Additional Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, business analytics, computerscience, information technology or related field
  • Master's degree in statistics, business analytics, computerscience, information technology, higher education administration orrelated field
  • 7+ years of post-secondary work experience with 3 to 5 years inbusiness analysis, project management, registrar or other highereducation unit;
  • Experience using data for decision-making, reporting, andanalysis
  • Experience using Peoplesoft Campus Solutions and its variousmodules and tools, and/or other student information systems
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated team performance and leadership skills, servicemindset approach, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor

Certificates and Licenses:

Completion of Harvard IT Academy specified foundational courses (orexternal equivalent) preferred

Work Format Details

This position has been determined by school or unit leaders thatsome of the duties and responsibilities can be effectivelyperformed at a non-Harvard location. The work schedule and locationwill be set by the department at its discretion and based uponoperational needs. When not working at a Harvard orHarvard-designated location, employees in hybrid positions mustwork in a Harvard registered state in compliance with theUniversity’s Policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts .Additional details will be discussed during the interview process.Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location.Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements priorto employment.
