Job Description
The Strategic Business Analyst will write detailed specifications in Microsoft Word for a web application, “Design Tabulation,” an internal and external web application for the DOT. The analyst will work with Project Leads from the Office of Design and other DOT offices, coordinate with stakeholders to understand processes, and work with the Highway Support Team to ensure specifications follow DOT IT standards.
This effort encompasses over 200 Design Tabs, each with defined fields, data types, rules, requirements, calculations, and other automated processes. Each Design Tab is compiled into a Design Plan for a project number.
Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and the ability to interact with diverse team members.
- Strong ability to work effectively within time constraints, changing priorities, and independently.
Skill Required
- Demonstrated experience gathering requirements for an application development project.
- Ability to interpret customer requirements, lead/participate in data mapping sessions with customers, recommend solutions and document data mapping requirements.
- Ability to interact with customers to verify business rules and/or clarify data analysis.
- Analyze and document business processes and flows.
- Document analysis and propose process changes or re-engineering approaches based on technical problems and solutions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Intermediate in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Experience updating scope documents and helping determine timelines and project phases.
Qualifications
State Govt. or Federal Govt. experience will be preferred.
