Senior Blood Bank Technologist Position Night Shift Weekend

Clinical Laboratory Technologist

Conducts moderate to high complexity testing on clinical specimens in the hospital blood bank laboratory, including but not limited to type-and-screens, cross match, blood compatibility, and antibody screening.

Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or one of the physical sciences – Biology, Chemistry

Minimum of six (6) years of laboratory testing experience in a clinical laboratory

Current NYS License as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist

Certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as Blood Bank Technologist, Specialist in Blood Banking, Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)- Preferred

Knowledge of Laboratory Information System – Preferred

Must possess verbal and spatial ability, form perception, finger and manual dexterity and clerical ability.

Near visual acuity required for reading results from reports and viewing computer screens

Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently

Ability to read computer screens, procedure manuals and other documents

Ability to hear doorbells, alarms, telephone, and other mechanical devices

Ability to pass a test for color blindness

Good interpersonal and communication skills.
