Senior Billing SpecialistOur client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Billing Specialist to join their team. This role is ideal for a seasoned billing professional with 5+ years of law firm experience, a strong command of complex client billing arrangements, and proficiency in 3E or Elite systems. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with exceptional communication skills, capable of managing high-volume billing cycles, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all billing operations.As a Senior Billing Specialist, your job duties will include but not be limited to:Review and bill attorney hours and disbursements to clientsReview and edit proformas in response to attorney and secretary requestsApply retainer/unallocated funds as directed by attorney; enter BOA charges and apply BOAProcess write-offs following Firm policyAbility to execute complex bills in a timely mannerAssist with training and mentoring of new employees and less experienced billing staffSuccessfully manages the billing operation of the Firm's high volume and complex client relationships, involving intricate billing arrangements, acts in an advisory capacity of their attorneys on billing mattersMonitor and manage WIP and AR assignmentsUpdate Rates and Split Billing Credit Allocation into the 3E SystemAdministrative responsibilities are consistently well-maintained (rate updates, electronic submissions/appeals and unallocated balances)Ability to effectively interact and communicate with attorneys, secretaries, and clientsEnsure that billing cycles are handled efficiently and accuratelyResearch, analyze and respond to inquiries regarding billing, split billing credit allocation and rate issues.Create billing reports and spreadsheets for analyses as required; ability to identify and generate billing reports as requestedMay assist in preparing documentation for exhibits in courtPerform Special projects as assignedQualifications:Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environmentAbility to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional mannerMust have strong attention to detailAbility to meet deadlines and use time efficientlyAbility to demonstrate good common sense and sound judgmentAbility to work independently, overtime during firm's Fiscal and Calendar year-end, self-starterMust have strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent organizational skillsAbility to be an effective team member and display initiativeAbility to participate in special projectsIdentify opportunities for improvement and proactively work with Shareholders and management to implement improved processesMonitor new processes and workflows to ensure effectivenessQualifications & Required Experience:Bachelor's degree preferred5+ years billing experience in a law firm environment requiredProficiency in billing software (e.g., Elite, 3E) and Microsoft OfficeDemonstrate ability to manage large and most complex billing arrangements and ensures the highest quality and customer servicePosition also requires the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.Good analytical and problem solving skills, and understanding of accounting best practicesKnowledge of E-Billing Hub and different E-Billing PlatformsExtensive knowledge to serve as a mentor to other billers and to assist management with special projectsV Elizabeth is an equal-opportunity employer and values diversity in the workplace.
