A growing aerospace engineering team is hiring an Avionics Test Systems Engineer to help build out the test infrastructure behind next-generation flight hardware. You'll work across electrical, software, and mission assurance disciplines to make sure avionics hardware is proven out before it ever flies.
What You'll Do
- Build and commission custom test rigs for avionics and related electronics
- Turn hardware requirements from engineering leads into concrete test plans
- Write, run, and validate test cases at the component and system level
- Troubleshoot and debug test equipment and benches
- Lead design reviews for new or updated test setups
- Mentor engineers on debugging and troubleshooting
- Document test rigs for smooth handoff to operations
- Help build and roll out a company-wide automated testing framework
- Build simulation interfaces for Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) testing with technical specialists
What We\'re Looking For
- Bachelor\'s degree in a technical field (CS, computer/electrical engineering, or similar)
- 2+ years working with hardware test equipment post-degree
- 1+ years in C++ or Python
- Comfortable administering Linux systems from the command line
- Experience with a modular DAQ platform (NI, Weidmüller, Beckhoff, etc.)
- Basic electrical wiring safety knowledge, including grounding
Nice to Have
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Hands-on product testing experience
- Familiarity with space industry test standards
- Experience guiding or reviewing other engineers' work
- Comfort with Git, CMake, and GNU toolchains
- Exposure to CI/CD and tools like Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, or GitHub
- Embedded systems experience
- Safety-critical or fault-tolerant software background
- Experience on aircraft, spacecraft, or other complex autonomous systems
- Network programming background
- Satellite comms or telemetry experience
- Comfort with bench gear: power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers
