You will work collaboratively with engineers of various disciplines and participate in all aspects of electrical hardware development, from requirements definition through design, prototyping, fabrication, testing, and production. As an engineer on the E-Space avionics team you will have frequent opportunities to test and operate your systems on-orbit.What You'll Be Doing:Power systems architecture, energy budget analysis, solar array and battery sizing, power management strategyDevelop power systems and PCBA requirements in collaboration with other engineering disciplinesSolar cell and battery cell evaluation and testingSchematic capture and PCB layout using Altium Designer for power systems PCBAsCircuit analysis including power, tolerance, and reliability relatedSolar array, battery, and PCBA design verification testing and system integration testingProduction manufacturing support as neededWhat You Will Bring To This Role:7+ years of experience in electrical hardware design including schematic capture, PCB layout, and testingProficient with battery and power managementDesign proficiency with processors, FPGAs, switch mode power supplies, communications interfaces, precision analog instrumentationProficient with Altium Designer for schematic capture and layout of complex PCBsExperience performing circuit analyses in SPICE and ExcelExperience with basic electronic lab equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, soldering iron, etc.Demonstrated success working in a dynamic environmentExtra Points For The Following:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalentExperience designing for space environments including radiation SEE/TID impacts and mitigationExperience with solar arrays and energy transfer techniquesExperience designing rigid-flex PCBs and general electro-mechanical design familiarityFPGA design skillsEmbedded software development skills for ARM core processors$120,000 - $200,000 a yearThe estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position in question, which is based on market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on location, skills and expertise, depth of relevant experience, and other relevant factors.
