Senior Automotive Transmission Engineer

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and develop transmission technologies , including:
• Continuously Variable Transmissions (CVT)
• Dual-Clutch Transmissions (DCT)
• Torque-Converter Automatic Transmissions
• Establish objective performance targets that correlate to subjective driver and evaluator feedback.
• Develop comprehensive test plans to support technology evaluations and performance verification.
• Assist CFMOTO in reviewing, comparing, and validating transmission supplier solutions to ensure alignment with performance, durability, and drivability targets.
• Work with vehicle integration teams to ensure transmission systems meet overall vehicle development goals.
• Identify opportunities for transmission optimization, calibration improvements, and performance enhancements.
• Support prototype evaluations and data-driven decision-making throughout the development cycle.

Required Qualifications

• Experience with CVT, DCT, and torque-converter automatic transmission systems.
• Proven ability to create objective performance metrics that correlate with subjective evaluations (NVH, shift feel, drivability, launch behavior, etc.).
• Background in developing testing methodologies , test plans, and performance evaluation frameworks.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of powertrain and driveline systems.
• Experience collaborating with transmission suppliers and evaluating their technical solutions.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

• Experience with powersports vehicles, ATVs, UTVs, or off-road 4WD systems.
• Familiarity with calibration development, durability testing, or control system integration.
• Ability to document engineering processes and define best practices for transmission development.
