Senior Automation EngineerThe Senior Automation Engineer will drive the planning, vision, and execution of the automation strategy across Distribution Centers in the network. This Automation expert will partner with key stakeholders to manage and improve current processes to support a dynamic organization. You will manage DC automation and prioritize utilizing human capital and technical resources for various automation projects.
You will evaluate automation opportunities in the various Distribution Centers and provide guidance for decision-making based on the feasibility of automation projects. The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, development, integration, installation, validation, and release to production of all automation.Responsibilities:Evaluate current distribution center practices and identify automation opportunitiesPrepare automation strategy reports for key capital funding decision-makingDesign DC layouts and processes that increase productivity, eliminate wastefulness and reduce costs while maintaining quality standardsPrepare technical specifications and drawings for automation projectsUtilize engineering tools to evaluate the distribution center's performance and develop plans and strategies for improving reliability, reducing costs, and improving customer serviceMentor and coach site leaders to be self-sufficient in identifying and executing automation bottlenecksPartner cross-functionally with key stakeholders in design, quality, supply chain, and operations to drive automation effortsLead, guide, develop and enhance all automation personnel's technical and managerial skillsDetermine the team's training needs to ensure the development of required functional and interpersonal competencies, such as communication, leadership, teamwork, etc.Responsible for the timely management, monitoring, and progress of the automation programCollaborate with necessary departments in the various Distribution Centers to prioritize different automation needs of the businessResponsible for the overall capital budget for automationShare results relevant to the system and support to promote awarenessActively participate in the 6S Program, a critical business objective, ensuring compliance with program regulations and carrying out the required activities as Auditor, Coordinator, Leader, or committee memberActively participate in the Safety and Environmental Systems, ensuring compliance with system requirements and carrying out the activities in which it is involvedPerform work assignments in a safe, efficient, and ethical mannerDevelop other activities assigned by management to support business operationsQualification Requirements:7+ years of experience in fields such as Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance and/or Automation4+ years of experience implementing and managing Automation systems in a distribution center environmentSix Sigma certification(s) preferredAutoCAD experience preferredAbility to travel as required (up to 10%)We Value:Working knowledge of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and/or Six Sigma conceptsDemonstrated leadership experience with a proven ability to develop and execute strategyProven ability to work on both strategic and tactical initiativesAdvanced communication skillsProject Management, Project Implementation experienceProficient with management operating systems that facilitate communicationCompensation: $140,000.00 - $161,000.00 per year
