The Role
Are you someone passionate about helping Fidelity’s customers answer key financial planning questions such as When can I retire?, Should I pay down my debt or invest?, and What is the real cost of leaving the workforce to care for a loved one? If yes, come join Financial Solutions and be part of the team which develops the methodology that provides answers to these questions and more for our retail and workplace customers. You’ll play a vital role in developing the methodology and help translate it into functional digital tools for representatives and customers.
The Team
The Financial Solutions team, part of Strategic Advisers, develops the methodology that underpins the financial planning advice and guidance Fidelity offers its wealth, brokerage, and workplace clients through interactions with representatives and digital tools. The team also conducts research, drives innovation, and provides thought leadership on a range of financial planning and investment topics.
The Expertise and Skill You Bring
This role will work with a range of teams at Fidelity including Fidelity Technology, Platform, Analytics, Product Management, Legal, and Compliance teams, among others. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting financial planning research and assisting in the creation of Fidelity's planning methodologies and related collateral.
- Identifying and accessing data for financial planning methodology research and development.
- Identifying the impact of financial planning frameworks and decisions on customer behavior and outcomes.
- Designing and implementing prototypes.
The ideal candidate:
- Is excited to help Fidelity customers with financial planning.
- Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, initiative, and love for learning new skills and capabilities.
- Possesses strong quantitative and problem-solving skills.
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced team-based environment.
- Has experience with quantitative model construction; data analytics; and programming languages such as R, Python, Visual Basic for Excel, SQL.
- Holds a bachelor’s degree or Graduate degree in Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Econometrics, Computer Science, or equivalent quantitative and logic-oriented degree.
- Has an interest in pursuing the CFP designation to increase their financial planning domain knowledge.
- Has 1-3 years of relevant financial services experience.
- Has excellent communication skills.
