Senior Associate, Financial Controls

About the Role

Our client, a wealth management firm based in Brickell, Miami, is looking for an Internal Controls & SOX Senior Associate to help strengthen and scale its internal controls and financial reporting framework.

This is a hands-on role with broad exposure across finance, accounting, audit, and business teams. You’ll play an important part in the firm's SOX and ICFR program, from maintaining controls and coordinating testing to identifying gaps, supporting remediation, and improving processes as the organization evolves.

4 days in office in Brickell.

What You’ll Do

• Support the firm's SOX and ICFR compliance program, including documentation, testing, issue tracking, and reporting.
• Maintain risk and control matrices (RCMs), process narratives, flowcharts, and control documentation.
• Partner with business and finance stakeholders to evaluate control design, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors, including walkthroughs, evidence requests, and testing.
• Track control deficiencies and remediation efforts through completion.
• Assess control implications related to new systems, acquisitions, and process changes.
• Support accounting policies, governance documentation, and audit-readiness initiatives.
• Help drive continuous improvements across the firm's broader control environment.

What We’re Looking For

• 4+ years of relevant experience across SOX/ICFR, internal audit, public accounting, accounting, risk, or internal controls.
• Experience working in or supporting a public-company SOX/ICFR environment.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, risk assessment, and control design.
• Hands-on experience with RCMs, control testing, documentation, and remediation.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
