Senior Application ProgrammerEdgewater Federal Solutions is a Senior Application Programmer to support a major national laboratory.We have expertise in R&D across many disciplines including large-scale software engineering, computer science, and system engineering. Our specific capabilities include software development, software testing, and system integration. We leverage these capabilities to innovate high-rigor solutions while supporting existing critical customer needs.
Our current responsibility includes support for real-time national security missions.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with architects, system engineers, developers, technical leads, customers, and end users to analyze requirementsDesign, develop, and deliver innovative technology solutions to achieve software system qualityGenerate automated tests to verify system functionalityParticipate in testing to assess accuracy and performance of the systemsSupport formal test activities at multiple levels from components to the enterprise systemDesign and develop pipeline testing frameworkDevelop application softwareQualificationsBS/BA in a relevant STEM field, such as a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field and Six (7) years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job or equivalent combination of relevant education and experienceActive DOE Q Clearance on Start or DOD Top Secret with reciprocity and ability to obtain an SCI clearanceMust Be US CitizenThis position is on-site full timeRequired Skills:Strong experience with object-oriented programming languages such as C/C++ (v11, v14, v17+), Java (v11, v17+), Python along with related object-oriented development principles & environmentExperience with software testing (automated and manual)Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash and UNIX command languagesExperience working in a collaborative environment (unclassified/classified)Desired SkillsExperience with databases such as SQL, Postgres, Mongo DBCloud technologiesContinuous Improvement/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelineContainerization (Docker preferred)Large-scale (1M+ lines of code) systemsExperience working with large, established codebasesExperience with Agile software development practicesEdgewater Federal Solutions is a privately held government contracting firm located in Frederick, MD.
