Senior Application DeveloperLeading logistics company seeks a Senior Applications Developer to play an integral role in the design and development of complete SDLC applications. The successful candidate will have experience in a broad range of technologies with an emphasis on Python and SQL.
Responsibilities include participating in the entire software development life cycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering and business analysis to the design and development of applications. The candidate will evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools to support the development of applications while considering factors like scalability, performance, and security. They will identify, extract, and analyze data from a variety of sources, such as SQL Server, csv, and xlsx. Additionally, they will develop applications on Qlik Cloud and work in an Agile environment to release software on a regular schedule.
The role also involves mentoring junior team members in best practices for development and troubleshooting and debugging existing applications.Qualifications include a Bachelors in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. The candidate should have strong experience using Python, with extensive knowledge of the libraries needed to load data into data frames, transform it, and output it in required formats (e.g., publishing to SQL Server for reporting, sending out customized emails, etc.). They should also have strong experience understanding, analyzing, and working with complex data models using SQL (T-SQL preferred) and experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools (Qlik preferred). Excellent verbal and written communication skills when interacting with management, project team, and internal and external stakeholders are also required.Plusses include experience with project management tools (e.g., Azure Boards), proficiency in Agile methodology, exposure to Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools, and a transportation industry or supply chain background.This is a great opportunity to develop new logistics and transportation systems for use by the company's customers.
