In this role, you will serve as the apparel technical owner leading the development process from initial concept through production readiness. Partnering closely with Design and Product Development teams, you will translate creative vision and performance requirements into industry-leading products—ensuring fit, construction, materials, and cost targets are achieved without compromising quality or product integrity. You will bring a high level of technical expertise to the organization, driving fit consistency, solving complex construction challenges, and establishing best practices that elevate our product development process.
As a key technical partner, you will influence product decisions, mentor cross-functional teams, and help build scalable systems and standards that support brand growth.The position reports to the Product Development Manager and is based at our Austin headquarters, with relocation support available.What You'll DoOwn end-to-end technical development from concept through production handoff and bulk approvalPartner with Design and Product Develop teams to interpret design intent, establish technical direction, and deliver products that meet brand standards for fit, function, quality, and performanceLead fit evaluations and proactively identify opportunities to improve fit, construction, and manufacturing executionDrive consistent fit execution through detailed technical analysis, fit corrections, visual assessments, and block/pattern developmentReview and approve sample measurements, construction details, specifications, and BOMs to ensure accuracy and production readinessDevelop and manage graded patterns across Men's and Youth size ranges, ensuring consistency and scalabilityLead cross-functional fit sessions and communicate clear recommendations, decisions, and next steps to internal and external partnersCollaborate with overseas development and manufacturing partners to troubleshoot technical challenges and drive solutionsEstablish and improve technical development processes, standards, and guidelines to increase efficiency and product consistencySupport continuous improvement initiatives across Technical Development, Product Development, and broader business teamsTake assigned styles from SMS through bulk production, releasing final specs for fit, construction, and BOMWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's degree Tech Design, Patternmaking or equivalent professional experience8-12+ years of experience in Apparel Technical Designer/Developer (mostly men's) apparelAdvanced knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, fit standards, grading, and manufacturing processesProven ability to independently manage complex product categories and drive development from concept through productionStrong product acumen with experience across technical apparel categories including shirts, pants, shorts, layering, outerwear, and performance-driven productsExperience partnering with Design, Sourcing, Manufacturing, and Product teams in a fast-paced product development environmentAdvanced understanding of BOMs, specifications, tech packs, and PLM systemsProficiency in Adobe Illustrator and technical drawing toolStrong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks, solve problems, and make sound technical recommendationsExceptional organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyAbility to influence and collaborate across teams while communicating clearly with both technical and creative partnersHighly adaptable, solutions-oriented, and comfortable navigating ambiguity and changePassion for product innovation, craftsmanship, and building products people rely on every dayBenefits & PerksMedical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) with employer matchPaid parental leavePaid vacation and sick timeGenerous employee discountAnnual company offsites
