Senior AI Mobile Developer

Salary: $45,000 - 75,000 per year Requirements:

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial hands-on delivery of production mobile apps for iOS, Android, or cross-platform frameworks such as React Native or Flutter.
• Strong user experience practice, including collaboration with designers, prototyping, testing with users, and creating fast, accessible, intuitive interfaces for non-technical frontline staff.
• Experience digitizing manual and paper-based workflows, including offline data capture, synchronization and conflict resolution, push notifications, camera and barcode scanning, and location-aware features.
• Experience integrating AI services into end-user applications, such as large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, agent or workflow orchestration, conversational or voice interfaces, and responsible AI safeguards.
• Strong API and integration capabilities, including REST, GraphQL, and event-driven services, and collaboration with backend and platform engineers to build performant, resilient mobile clients.
• Experience with mobile app distribution and quality practices, including app stores or enterprise distribution, MDM-managed devices, mobile CI/CD, crash and performance monitoring, automated UI testing, and staged releases.
• Working proficiency in Python or a comparable backend language, plus sufficient cloud and platform knowledge across Azure, AWS, or GCP, containers, CI/CD, and observability to extend Tulip services as needed.
• Experience securing mobile and enterprise integrations, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SSO on shared and personal devices, on-device data protection, and secrets management.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with field and operations teams, understand their work, and translate operational needs into technical designs and executable engineering tasks.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent practical experience is also acceptable.
• Preferred: Experience building mobile or frontline applications for retail, restaurants, field service, logistics, or other deskless workforces.
• Preferred: Familiarity with design systems, accessibility standards, usability testing, and product analytics for measuring adoption and task completion.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Azure AI, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Fabric, vector search, prompt orchestration, agentic AI frameworks, and enterprise AI governance or responsible AI controls.
• Preferred: Experience integrating mobile products with enterprise POS, scheduling, inventory, learning, ticketing, or identity systems.
• Preferred: Background in retail, restaurants, ecommerce, loyalty, finance, supply chain, or other high-volume enterprise environments.
• Preferred: Experience partnering with product managers, designers, business analysts, forward deployed engineers, and enterprise architects to take ideas from field discovery through delivery.
• Relevant skills include mobile engineering, UX collaboration, workflow digitization, offline-first design, mobile performance, APIs and eventing, AI-enabled experiences, Python, SQL, cloud-native and secure service design, mobile release and testing practices, field discovery, stakeholder communication, mentorship, engineering standards, design reviews, and code quality.

• Design, build, and ship mobile and field-facing experiences for the Tulip platform.
• Turn manual, paper-based, and desktop-bound processes into intuitive, mobile-first workflows and integrate Tulip AI services into the apps and devices used by field teams.
• Contribute to platform architecture, integration approaches, and engineering standards.
• Mentor colleagues through design discussions and code reviews.
• Deliver user-focused mobile solutions that account for real shop-floor and field conditions, including intermittent connectivity and one-handed use, and align with business priorities.
