Senior Software Engineer, Agent Platform
Location: NYC
We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join a hypergrowth, recently minted unicorn redefining human-led commerce.
The company recently raised at a $1.5B valuation, with backing from Bessemer Venture Partners, and Bain Capital Ventures. You'll work closely with the CTO and senior engineers to build and ship real-time conversational workflows, agentic systems, including search and personalization, powering AI-orchestrated decision logic for high-impact 0-to-1 product launches.
What You'll Do:
- Design and evolve the orchestration core — triggers, durable workflows, human-in-the-loop approvals
- Build the tool layer that gives agents their capabilities: Slack, Linear, GitHub, Notion, MCP
- Build the management console agent managers use to create and improve agents (React)
- Make agent behavior legible: run tracing, evals, feedback loops, cost attribution
- Design and implement APIs in TypeScript and NestJS backed by Postgres
- Deploy and operate the platform on AWS (ECS, ALB, CloudFormation, CloudWatch)
Bonus Points:
- Built on or operated durable-execution or workflow engines (Temporal or similar)
- Shipped agent systems, agent frameworks, MCP servers, or eval harnesses
- Experience in high-growth startups or fast-paced product environments
- Enjoy mentoring and shaping engineering culture
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and relational databases
- Experience building systems other engineers build on
- Hands-on LLM experience: tool calling, memory, evaluating nondeterministic behavior
- Experience running production services on AWS
- AI-assisted development (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) as core to how you work
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
