Work Shift: Day; Work Days: MON-FRI; Scheduled Hours: 9 AM-5:30 PM; Scheduled Daily Hours: 7.5 HOURS; Pay Range: $184,000.00-$230,000.00

Job Summary

The position of Senior AI Engineer within the Data and Analytics function leverages skills across Predictive, Generative, and Agentic AI solutions to improve health for a diverse community and redesign the healthcare experience. The role involves working with complex AI/ML/LLM-based solutions in a fast‑paced, rapidly evolving landscape, answering critical business and clinical questions, and supporting the mission to improve patient healthcare.

Essential Functions

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of ML/AI related platforms and products.
• Propose, design, develop and implement cloud‑based AI solutions that ensure agility, flexibility, and scalability.
• Drive technical design discussions and provide guidance to team members on MLOps best practices, standards and principles.
• Collaborate with and lead cross‑functional teams to develop new features and products that meet Montefiore’s AI governance standards and policies.
• Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, tools and trends that drive ML/AI innovation and improve engineering efficiency.
• Ensure reliability, scalability and fault tolerance of AI/ML systems in production environments.
• Demonstrate high ownership and accountability for project deliverables in a fast‑paced environment.
• Quickly learn and adapt to new AI/ML technologies and tools as needed.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative culture, set clear goals, and mentor staff.

Qualifications

• BS in Data Analytics or related field.
• 10+ years design, development, and support of ML/AI platforms and products.
• Solid understanding of statistical methods and principles.
• Build and deploy diverse ML models (GLM, GBM, Neural Networks) and NLP solutions at scale.
• Proficient in Python and relevant ML libraries, out‑of‑the‑box LLMs, generative AI solutions, and LLMOps.
• Experience automating ML workflows and pipelines.
• Experience in AI managed services such as H2O, Snowflake Cortex, etc.
• Experience with Snowflake.
• Knowledge of healthcare, preferably in a provider domain.
• Experience with clinical data platforms like EPIC (high proficiency).
