Position Overview

This is an opportunity to join a world-class organization. Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the organization's general accounting and financial reporting functions. This position will play a key role in the month-end close process, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, reclasses, and other routine accounting adjustments.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by reviewing transactions, researching discrepancies, and resolving accounting issues.
• Prepare and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Perform variance analysis and investigate fluctuations across key financial accounts.

Reconciliations & Financial Reporting

• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
• Complete balance sheet account reconciliations and supporting schedules in accordance with close deadlines.
• Analyze general ledger activity, identify unusual transactions, and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
• Support internal and external reporting requirements by preparing schedules, workpapers, and financial analyses.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, corporate accounting policies, and reporting requirements.

Systems, Controls & Process Improvement

• Partner with finance and operational teams to ensure the accuracy and consistency of financial data across systems.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, strengthening controls, and improving reporting accuracy.
• Support system implementations, upgrades, and testing activities as needed.
• Maintain compliance with internal control policies and established accounting procedures.
• Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve the quality and timeliness of financial information.

Audit & Cross-Functional Support

• Prepare audit schedules, supporting documentation, and analyses for internal and external auditors.
• Assist with year-end audit requests and coordinate follow-up items with accounting leadership.
• Collaborate with business partners across departments to resolve accounting issues and support financial decision-making.
• Support special projects, regulatory filings, ad hoc reporting requests, and other accounting initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a corporate accounting or general ledger environment.
• Strong understanding of month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience supporting financial statement preparation and annual audit processes.
• Exposure to large, complex, or multi-entity organizations is preferred.
• CPA designation or progress toward certification strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
