Senior Accountant

CooperDouglas is partnering with a leading manufacturing company to hire a Senior Accountant to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to step into a hands-on role during a period of rapid growth. You will own key pieces of the monthly close, drive reconciliation and standardization work across newly integrated entities, and play a meaningful part in preparing the company for its upcoming audit. This is a high-visibility role that partners closely with accounting leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute assigned areas of the month-end close on schedule, continuously improving speed and accuracy across the close calendar.
  • Prepare detailed account reconciliations for review, including bank, AR, AP, prepaids, fixed asset depreciation, inventory, and intercompany accounts.
  • Support monthly flux analysis, gathering and documenting explanations for P&L and balance sheet variances at the entity level.
  • Assist with retrospective clean-up of GL coding across acquired entities to support migration to a unified chart of accounts.
  • Maintain a clear, audit-ready trail for all entries, including supporting schedules and memos for non-routine adjustments, and execute year-end cut-off procedures.
  • Support inventory accounting, including standard cost variance reviews and physical inventory counts at production facilities.
  • Produce weekly revenue and cash flow reporting to analyze performance against budget and forecast near-term cash movement.
  • Help document existing processes and identify opportunities to build more scalable, standardized workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience; a blend of public accounting audit (Big 4 or national firm) and private industry is strongly preferred.
  • Solid working knowledge of US GAAP and the ability to apply it to routine transactions independently.
  • Experience navigating multiple ERP environments and executing journal entries; advanced Excel skills strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving, evolving environment with newly acquired entities and developing processes.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive, with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
