Senior Accountant – Tax

We're partnering with a growing, modern CPA firm looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with 3–5 years of public accounting experience and strong tax preparation skills. This role is for someone who can manage tax returns with increasing independence, communicate clearly with clients, and help keep work moving during busy season.
What you’ll do
- Prepare and review individual and business tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1065, and 1120-S.
- Review client records, identify missing information, and resolve tax preparation questions.
- Perform tax research and assist with planning and client inquiries.
- Coordinate with team members to meet filing deadlines and maintain accurate workpapers.
- Communicate with clients about their returns and outstanding items.
What we’re looking for
- 3–5 years of recent public accounting experience, with substantial hands-on tax preparation experience.
- Strong knowledge of federal and New Jersey individual and business taxation.
- Experience preparing partnership and S corporation returns.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements, meet deadlines, and work with limited supervision.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with tax preparation software; UltraTax CS experience is a plus.
- CPA or EA credential, or progress toward one, is a plus
