Live Well.DescriptionThe Senior Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the organization's financial operations, with a primary focus on accounts payable, reconciliations, compliance, and accounting process improvement. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position is responsible for managing complex AP functions, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close activities, and ensuring adherence to internal controls and accounting standards. This role will work cross-functionally with internal departments and external vendors to support operational efficiency, financial accuracy, and continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting function. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.ResponsibilitiesManage the full accounts payable process, including invoice review, coding, approvals, payment processing, vendor communications, payment reconciliations, and resolution of discrepancies.Review and monitor vendor payment methods, including Auto Draft and ACH vendors, to ensure proper payment processing, bank verification, reconciliations, and compliance with internal controls.Prepare journal entries, reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts, and support month-end and year-end close activities.Reconcile vendor statements, research discrepancies, identify root causes, and resolve payment or accounting issues in a timely and accurate manner.Maintain accurate financial records and organized supporting documentation for reconciliations, payments, journal entries, audits, and other accounting activities to ensure audit-ready compliance.Partner with internal departments to ensure accurate expense coding, approvals, financial documentation, and adherence to accounting procedures and company policies.Support financial reporting, audits, and special accounting projects as directed by the Director of Finance and CFO.Identify process gaps, recommend corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen accounting operations, internal controls, and workflow efficiency.Support standardization, automation, and troubleshooting of AP and accounting workflows across procurement systems, AP platforms, ERP/accounting systems, and financial records.Assist with implementation of accounting best practices, process documentation, and operational accountability initiatives within the accounting and AP functions.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience required, including strong experience in accounts payable, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
Experience supporting complex AP operations, vendor payment management, and month-end close activities is required. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, audit support, and accounting workflow processes required. Must possess excellent organizational skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and exceptional attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be capable of managing multiple priorities, maintaining confidentiality, and working collaboratively across departments in a fast-paced environment.
