Our holistic approach to veterinary medicine focuses on practice legacy, team, veterinarians, patients and community.The RoleThe Senior Accountant will be a key contributor to the accounting team, supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and the integration of newly acquired hospitals. This role is ideal for someone transitioning from public accounting who is looking to apply a strong technical foundation in a high-growth, operational environment. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this individual will take ownership of key close processes and gain exposure well beyond a traditional corporate accounting role, including consolidation, acquisition accounting, and cross-functional business initiatives.

You will partner closely with leadership and teams across the organization, contributing directly to financial performance and strategic growth in a fast-paced environment with a more sustainable cadence than public accounting.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn key components of the month-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysisPrepare and support monthly financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flowAssist with financial consolidation across a growing portfolio of entitiesSupport purchase accounting and integration for newly acquired hospitalsPartner with external auditors and advisors on audit and tax complianceStrengthen and maintain internal controls and accounting policiesIdentify and implement process improvements, particularly around close efficiency and scalabilitySupport onboarding and integration of new hospitals into CareVet's shared services modelContribute to ad hoc projects, including system enhancements and process automationCollaborate cross-functionally to support business initiatives and improve financial visibilityQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance3–5+ years of experience, ideally in public accounting (Big 4 or regional firm)CPA credentialStrong foundation in GAAP and financial reportingExperience with or exposure to multi-entity environments or consolidations preferredERP experience required; NetSuite preferredAdvanced Excel skills, including data analysis, reconciliations, and working with large datasetsDetail-oriented with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and levels of the organizationBenefits: Competitive base salary and annual bonus opportunity.
