Senior Accountant | Real Estate Investment | Walnut Creek / East BayA growing, privately held real estate investment firm is expanding its accounting team and hiring two Senior Accountants. This is an excellent opportunity for a sharp, motivated accountant to join a close-knit team, gain exposure to a diverse multi-entity portfolio, and grow alongside strong Controller/CFO mentors.This is a hands-on, high-visibility role supporting an established real estate platform with investments across multiple property types. You'll own close for an assigned portfolio of entities and work across property, partnership, and corporate accounting.What you'll do:Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for assigned entitiesPrepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statementsReview property-level financial reporting prepared by third-party management companiesSupport intercompany accounting, consolidations, investor reporting, and lender reportingAssist with cash flow, debt, fixed assets, budgets, audit, and tax supportWork across evolving systems and help support automation/process-improvement initiativesPartner closely with accounting leadership and help support a collaborative, growing teamWhat they're looking for:5+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong understanding of the full close process, balance sheet, and P&L/income statementCPA or public accounting foundation is a plus, but not requiredMulti-entity, real estate, property management, partnership, or investment accounting experience is helpful—not requiredStrong Excel and systems skills; interest in AI and new technologies is a plusSomeone self-directed, detail-oriented, motivated, and excited to learn the businessWhy consider it:Growth-driven hiring and clear opportunity to take on more over timeSmall, highly collaborative accounting team with strong mentorship$100K-$130K base + 10% bonus; flexibility up to $140K for an exceptional fitBonus has historically paid at target or aboveUnlimited PTO; employees generally take 3+ weeksUp to $650/month toward medical coverage; employer-paid dental and vision401(k) matchUnique employee co-investment opportunity in firm-sponsored real estate dealsLocation/schedule: Walnut Creek.
