General Ledger | Financial Reporting | Month-End Close | Process Improvement

We are partnering with a growing software company who is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This role will be responsible for owning key areas of the monthly close process, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, preparing financial analyses, and supporting financial reporting efforts. The ideal candidate will bring strong corporate accounting experience, a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, and a desire to contribute in a fast-paced, acquisitive, and growth-oriented environment.

This position is best suited for an accounting professional coming from industry rather than public accounting, though candidates with a mix of public and industry experience will also be considered. A CPA is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Own key components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, roll-forwards, and supporting schedules.
  • Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Support the preparation of internal and external financial reporting packages.
  • Assist with accounting for acquisitions, integrations, and other strategic business initiatives.
  • Partner with FP&A, Operations, and business leaders to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Support external audits and coordinate requests from auditors.
  • Assist with technical accounting research and documentation on complex accounting matters.
  • Evaluate and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting workflows.
  • Leverage technology and automation tools to increase efficiency and strengthen accounting operations.
  • Mentor junior accounting team members and serve as a resource on accounting policies and procedures.
  • Participate in ERP enhancements, system implementations, and other special projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a corporate or SaaS environment.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
  • Experience preparing complex account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analyses.
  • Experience working in a multi-entity or high-growth organization preferred.
  • ERP experience required; experience with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, SAP, or similar systems is a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

What We're Looking For

  • A hands-on accountant who enjoys owning their work from start to finish.
  • Someone with strong technical accounting skills who can also think operationally.
  • An accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative, high-growth environment.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with an interest in automation, systems, and process optimization.
  • A future accounting leader who wants to grow into increasingly complex accounting and finance responsibilities.
