Senior Accountant

I am looking for a Senior Accountant to join a school in Middle Tennessee.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting functions for a not-for-profit educational institution
• Track and reconcile restricted, temporarily restricted, and unrestricted funds
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of financial records, with a strong emphasis on reviewing and verifying work prior to submission
• Support endowment accounting and reporting
• Communicate professionally and confidently with families on billing and payment matters, maintaining firmness and courtesy under pressure

Requirements

• Not-for-profit accounting experience, specifically endowment accounting and fund tracking (restricted/temporarily restricted/unrestricted)
• Blackbaud accounting software experience preferred
• School or educational institution accounting experience preferred
• Demonstrated track record of accuracy with minimal recurring errors
• Ability to work independently while recognizing when to escalate questions on institution-specific accounting treatment
