Senior Accountant | Lonely PlanetUnited StatesRed Ventures is currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This person will be responsible for the financial accounting and analysis for Lonely Planet, one of Red Ventures' high growth business units within the travel industry. This position will have an immediate impact on Lonely Planet through collaborative work with multiple cross-functional teams to complete recurring month-end close activities, problem solve, and make process improvements.*This role is open to remote or hybrid candidates (East Coast preference), with hybrid being central to our Charlotte area office. Must be able to work Eastern Standard Time hours.What You'll Do:Perform revenue close procedures on-time and in accordance with US GAAP, including revenue and deferred revenue journal entries, account reconciliations, and fluctuation analysesPrepare a wide variety of monthly balance sheet reconciliationsParticipation of recurring month-end close activitiesSupplier Invoice and requisitions reviews and approvals for business operationsMonthly Capex/CIP reconciliationsAnnual audit supportAssist with monthly reconciliation of AR subledgers to the General LedgerAssist with accounting process redesign, documentation and automation including implementation of key systemsPreparing monthly financial statementsProvide financial support to business leaders in monthly forecasting and annual operating planPrepare ad hoc business case analysis, including financial models and analysis of business trendsReviewing and analyzing data from external sitesEnsuring adequate financial and internal controlsPreparing presentations for management reviews and quarterly board meetingsPerforming financial analyses and special projects as requestedProviding financial data to shareholders as requestedWhat We're Looking For:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and/or Finance3+ years of relevant experience and demonstrable success as indicated by progressively more responsible rolesProficiency utilizing financial systems and reporting packagesProficiency with Microsoft Office productsKnowledge of public company accounting and reportingExperience with Workday, NetSuite and MySQL, a plusExperience with mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, a plusExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)Strong attention to detail and problem solving abilitiesGood organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environmentMust be a team playerCompensation:Total Cash Compensation Range: $90,000 - $100,000 per yearActual compensation varies based on location, experience, and qualifications.Additionally, the following benefits are provided by Red Ventures, subject to eligibility requirements.Health Insurance Coverage (medical, dental, and vision)Life InsuranceShort and Long-Term Disability InsuranceFlexible Spending AccountsHoliday Pay401(k) with matchEmployee Assistance ProgramPaid Parental Bonding Benefit ProgramFlexible Paid Time Off (PTO): We believe time to rest and recharge is essential.
