Senior Accountant

Location: La Porte, Indiana
Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite
Salary: $70,000–$85,000

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a fast-paced organization in La Porte, Indiana. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with 2+ years of experience, including at least 1 year in a manufacturing environment , who is looking to take ownership of financial reporting and contribute to the overall success of the accounting team.

The ideal candidate will be highly detail oriented, analytical, and organized , with strong reporting skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

• Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

• Prepare and maintain accurate balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliations.

• Analyze financial data and provide meaningful reporting and insights to management.

• Assist with manufacturing accounting activities, including inventory, cost analysis, and variance reporting.

• Identify discrepancies and investigate unusual or unfavorable variances.

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.

• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.

• Support internal and external audits by providing requested schedules and documentation.

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and overall efficiency.

• Collaborate with operations and other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience required.

• At least 1 year of manufacturing accounting experience required.

• Strong financial reporting and analytical skills.

• Solid understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.

• Highly detail oriented with strong organizational skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment .

• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both accounting and operational teams.

• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

• Ability to identify issues, research discrepancies, and develop practical solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
