A large, established organization in Jersey City is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its growing finance and accounting team. This role will have significant responsibility for the balance sheet across 17 business lines and is ideal for a strong Senior Accountant with experience working within a large, complex corporate environment.

Responsibilities
- Own and manage key balance sheet accounting activities across multiple business lines.
- Perform monthly and quarterly close activities.
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations .
- Conduct balance sheet flux and variance analysis .
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Support financial reporting and other general accounting activities.
- Work cross-functionally within a large finance and accounting organization.
- Assist with process improvements and accounting initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance .
- 5+ years of accounting experience .
- Current experience at the Senior Accountant level .
- Strong experience with balance sheet accounting, reconciliations, close, and flux analysis .
- Experience working within a large and/or complex organization .
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working with an ERP system .
- Insurance industry experience is preferred but not required .
- Public/private accounting or insurance experience is especially attractive for candidates at the top end of the compensation range.
