Senior AccountantThe Sr. Accountant reports to the Controller and is responsible for the company's overall accounting and reporting activities.

Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the overall accounting and reporting activitiesObtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structureAssist with the preparation and review of the monthly financial statement packages (e.g., consolidated financial package and/or stand-alone financial statement package)Assist with the preparation and review of month-over-month and year-to-date budget and prior year variance explanations for various reporting packagesRespond to inquiries from the Controller regarding financial resultsAssist with the preparation of the annual audit reports & footnote disclosures (e.g., consolidated and/or stand-alone audit reports); Respond to requests from the external audit firmAssist with preparation and review of quarterly presentations for the corporate Board of DirectorsAssist with preparation and review of quarterly presentations for Debt HoldersAssist the Controller with researching complex accounting and financial issuesInteraction with Controller, CFO, senior management, and external auditorsSupport Controller on ad hoc projectsTrain current employees with new responsibilities and/or help onboard new employeesOther ResponsibilitiesSupervise the corporate accounting staff to ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end closeAdvise corporate accounting staff on the handling of non-routine reporting transactionsMaintain comprehensive controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of the reported financial resultsMonitor department processes to develop and implement more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracyRequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance requiredMaster's degree in Accounting or Finance preferredCPA preferredKnowledge and experience with partnerships and consolidationAt least 4 years of prior experience in a corporate accounting and financial environment area; Public accounting experience a plusSupervisory experience in the accounting and financial reporting/general ledger area a plusAbility to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlinesWillingness to work a flexible scheduleStrong organizational, analytical, technical, oral and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and supervisory skillsHighest standards of accuracy and precisionAbility to think creatively, highly driven and self-motivated
