Job Title: Senior Accountant

My client, one of the most established manufacturing companies in the greater Lansing region, is looking to hire a Senior Accountant. You will have direct visibility into how capital decisions get made at the leadership level, something most senior accountant seats never offer.
If you have been doing solid work in a controlled, audit-ready environment but feel like your input stops at the reconciliation, this is the kind of seat where that changes.
This is a strategy-adjacent leadership role within accounting, not a transactional bookkeeping function, and it reports into a team that treats process improvement as core to the job, not an afterthought.
Own monthly and annual close activities, ensuring accuracy across reconciliations and reporting deliverables
Build and refine dashboards and reporting tools that give leadership real visibility into financial trends
Lead audit readiness efforts, preparing documentation and disclosures that hold up under both internal and external scrutiny
Mentor and develop junior team members as a technical resource across the accounting function
Design and strengthen internal controls, ensuring the team stays ahead of compliance requirements rather than reacting to them
Five or more years of progressive accounting experience in a SOX-controlled, audit-ready environment
Strong working knowledge of SAP and US GAAP, including depreciation, capitalization, and impairment principles
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data modeling
CPA or CPA-eligible
Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools
Exposure to multiple ERP systems beyond SAP
