Senior Accountant - Implementation Project - REMOTE

We are recruiting a Senior Accountant for a growing, organization in the Raleigh area. In this role, you will own key balance sheet areas and play an integral role in the monthly close, financial reporting, audit support, and integration of newly acquired operations. This is an ideal role for someone with strong technical accounting skills who can work independently, meet deadlines, and identify opportunities to improve processes and strengthen controls. Own assigned areas of the monthly close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and balance sheet analysis. Maintain fixed and intangible asset records, including additions, depreciation, amortization, transfers, disposals, and construction in progress. Prepare and reconcile payroll-related entries, accruals, clearing accounts, tax liabilities, benefit withholdings, and related balance sheet accounts. Maintain debt and financing schedules, record principal and interest activity, reconcile balances, and prepare current and long-term classifications. Support lease accounting, including new agreements, modifications, terminations, monthly entries, reconciliations, and audit schedules. Prepare bank reconciliations, investigate outstanding items and unusual activity, and maintain appropriate supporting documentation. Support financial reporting, external audits, tax schedules, and other accounting requests as needed. Assist with the accounting integration of newly acquired entities and identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls, and reduce manual work.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with progressive accounting experience. CPA is a plus. Strong knowledge of US GAAP with hands-on experience in areas such as fixed assets, prepaids, debt, payroll, bank reconciliations, or lease accounting. Advanced Excel skills with experience working in an ERP or enterprise accounting system; Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
