Senior Financial Analyst/Senior Accountant Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid) Employment Type: Contract We are seeking a Senior Financial Analyst/Sr Accountant to join a fast-paced accounting and finance team supporting complex accounting, financial reporting, and reconciliation activities. This role is ideal for a highly analytical professional who thrives in a high-volume reconciliation environment, learns quickly, and operates independently with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supporting close activities, strengthening internal controls, and driving process improvements across the organization. Responsibilities Lead high-volume bank and balance sheet reconciliation activities. Prepare, review, and analyze reconciliations, financial reports, and supporting schedules. Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing solutions. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Analyze financial results and provide actionable insights to improve business performance. Evaluate accounting, reporting, and control-related issues and recommend practical solutions. Develop and enhance accounting procedures, controls, and workflows. Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, Operations, Technology, and external auditors to meet business objectives. Communicate financial findings and recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, accuracy, and risk reduction. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of accounting, financial analysis, or corporate accounting experience.
Strong experience in high-volume bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
Advanced Excel skills.
Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes, and business operations.
Proven ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications Public accounting experience. CPA or CPA-track candidates. Experience within financial services, insurance, banking, or other regulated industries. Experience leading projects, process improvements, or cross-functional initiatives.
