Senior AccountantThe Senior Accountant supports the accuracy and integrity of financial operations by managing general accounting activities, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards. This role plays a key part in the month-end close process, audit support, and financial analysis.Qualifications3–7+ years of progressive accounting experience (6+ years preferred or equivalent hands-on experience)Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principlesExperience with accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, M3, Great Plains)Advanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelExperience with real estate property taxBackground in real estate appraisal preferredActive Texas Property Tax Consultant License preferredKey ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsManage general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliationsSupport month-end and year-end close processesEnsure compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulationsSupport accounts payable and accounts receivable processesAssist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activitiesCoordinate and support internal and external auditsAnalyze financial data and provide insights to managementMaintain accurate financial records and documentationIdentify process improvements and strengthen internal controlsProvide guidance and support to junior accounting staff as neededSkills & CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyEffective organization and time managementClear written and verbal communicationAbility to work independently and collaborativelyProfessional integrity and sound judgmentPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit for extended periods and perform repetitive tasksFrequent use of the computer and keyboard (constant finger dexterity)Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionallyAbility to bend, reach, and stretch as neededEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
