Senior Accountant

This Senior Accountant role is responsible for managing endowment and restricted fund accounting, serving as the primary administrator of the endowment subledger, and ensuring accurate reconciliation, reporting, compliance, and audit support for donor-restricted assets. The position plays a key role in grant accounting, including tracking grant expenditures, monitoring budgets, preparing financial reports for federal, state, and private funding sources, ensuring compliance with donor and grantor requirements, supporting grant audits, and partnering with program leaders to analyze grant activity and funding utilization. Additional responsibilities include preparing journal entries, maintaining fixed asset and capital project records, reconciling financial data across systems, assisting with annual audits and tax filings, and providing financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in nonprofit, fund, endowment, and grant accounting, along with advanced Excel skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, auditors, development teams, and external funding organizations.
