Senior Accountant General LedgerThe salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000Position OverviewThe Senior Accountant General Ledger will report to the Associate Director, Accounting. The Senior Accountant's responsibilities include performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.This position is based in Washington, DC (hybrid schedule).Essential FunctionsEnsures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering transactionsMaintains and balances general ledger accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepanciesPerform month-end and year-end account reconciliations including preparation of working papers for auditors' reviewEnter, revise, sort, calculate and create tables for analysis, account reconciliations, year-end working papers, etcContribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and proceduresCoordinate complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departmentsOther duties as assignedSelection CriteriaBachelor's degree in accounting or finance required3+ years of progressive accounting experienceProficiency with excelUnderstanding and knowledge of automated systemsProven ability to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline driven environmentMust be an outstanding communicator, with established skills in accuracy, organization, and experience working in a high-volume environmentSkill assessment is part of the interview processRequired Application MaterialsIt is required you upload your resume and a cover letter for this position.
