Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who combines strong technical accounting expertise with advanced Excel automation, AI-powered tools, and a continuous process improvement mindset.The Senior Accountant will play a key role in modernizing financial workflows, automating reporting processes, and improving data visibility across the organization. This position supports the monthly close, financial reporting, operational analytics, and sales & use tax compliance, while building scalable systems that reduce manual effort and sharpen financial insight.The ideal candidate brings a positive, team-first attitude along with strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and clear communication — both written and verbal.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Accounting & CloseEnsure sales transactions are recorded in compliance with US GAAP — complete, accurate, and timelyPrepare and post journal entries for inventory, revenue, expenses, and accrualsReconcile the general ledger to subledgers for inventory and other key balance sheet accountsPrepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliationsAccurately record and manage expenses across the companySales & Use TaxManage multi-state sales and use tax compliance, including timely and accurate filing of returnsResearch nexus requirements and taxability rules across relevant jurisdictionsCoordinate with third-party tax providers and Avalara tax software to ensure proper calculation and remittanceMonitor regulatory changes affecting sales and use tax obligationsRespond to tax notices and support audits related to sales and use taxAI Tools & Process ImprovementLeverage AI-powered tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) to automate repetitive accounting tasks and enhance reportingIdentify and implement workflow improvements that reduce manual effort and improve data accuracyBuild and maintain scalable Excel models, dashboards, and automated reports to support financial visibilityDocument and refine standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and scalability as the company growsCollaboration & Stakeholder SupportPartner with cross-functional teams and key business stakeholders to deliver accurate, actionable financial informationBuild strong working relationships within the Finance and Accounting team to drive continuous improvementSupport ad hoc projects and analysis as requested by management
