Senior AccountantThe Senior Accountant is a key member of the accounting and finance team, responsible for executing accounting procedures to ensure the company's books and records are maintained in accordance with U.S. GAAP. This role includes preparing journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting the design of controls for the company's SOX program.
Additional responsibilities include ad hoc accounting, internal controls, regulatory and compliance reporting, technical research, accrual analysis, and monthly account reconciliations.Responsibilities:Maintain records of organization's financial activity in accordance with US GAAP, organizational standards, and in compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley ActCreate reports on financial performance for internal and external useComplete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities including but not limited to asset-back securitization transactions, equipment funding transactions, cash management activities, including preparing the appropriate audit workpapers for such activitiesEnsure accuracy, validity, and completeness of all documentation necessary to meet organizational, industry, and government regulatory requirementsPrepare and review monthly account reconciliations including operating lease assets, goodwill and intangibles assets, loan and finance lease net investmentOversee review of the weekly (and eventually daily) reconciliation of loan & finance lease net investment as well as operating lease net investmentResearch technical accounting issuesOversee monthly accounting for intercompany transactions, including intercompany debt and interest expense calculationsManage monthly customer delinquency, charge-offs, recoveries, residual realization and borrowing base reportingPrepare account reconciliations and upload recons to FloQast timelyFunctional knowledge of operational systemsPrepare schedules for regulatory compliance and SEC reportingAssist with audit preparation and supportProvide direct or indirect supervision of less experienced accountantsUpdate process and procedure documentations to keep them currentCollaborate with the corporate accounting team to resolve outstanding issues as they ariseAssist with ad hoc schedule preparations as neededOversee Great Plain account GL balances agree to Oracle balances monthlyComplete all regulatory training as required in a timely mannerQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field4+ years' accounting work experienceProficiency using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Strong written and verbal communication and listening skillsAbility to multitask and meet communication deadlinesAbility to effectively supervise less experience staffAdherence to policies and proceduresAxos Employee Benefits May Include:Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life InsurancePaid Sick Leave, 3 weeks' Vacation, and Holidays (about 11 a year)HSA or FSA account and other voluntary benefits401(k) Retirement Saving Plan with Employer Match Program and 529 Savings PlanEmployee Mortgage Loan Program and free access to an Axos Bank Account with Self-Directed TradingBorn digital-first, Axos delivers financial tools and services that allow individuals, small businesses, and companies to access and manage their money how, when, and where they want.
