Chicago, IL | Hybrid (3 days in-office)

A high-growth, PE-backed global capital markets technology company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its global finance team — combining hands-on core accounting responsibilities with meaningful exposure to process improvement, automation, M&A integration, and international multi-entity accounting.

This is a strong opportunity for a technically sharp CPA who enjoys understanding the process behind the numbers and is always looking for ways to make things faster, cleaner, and more scalable.

What You'll Do:

• Own complex journal entries and account reconciliations to support period-end close in compliance with US GAAP across multiple jurisdictions
• Assist in redesigning financial processes to identify inefficiencies and automate routine tasks — leveraging tools such as Power Automate, Power BI, or AI models to drive efficiency
• Perform variance analysis on actuals versus prior periods with clear, actionable commentary for management
• Support the consolidated U.S. audit and statutory audits for international entities — serving as a primary point of contact for external auditors
• Manage local accounting firms to ensure compliance with local filing requirements and deadlines across all jurisdictions
• Actively identify inefficiencies in accounting workflows and propose and implement scalable improvements including automation opportunities
• Support the evaluation and implementation of close management tools to centralize task ownership and reduce manual reconciliation
• Document and maintain SOPs for all key accounting processes
• Act as a cross-functional business partner collaborating with FP&A, Legal, HR, and international counterparts on close and reporting activities
• Support M&A integration activities and post-acquisition accounting as the company continues to grow

What We're Looking For:

• CPA required
• Substantial progressive accounting experience in a global or national accounting, professional services, or consulting environment
• Big 4 or blend of Big 4 and industry experience highly preferred
• Experience in a high-growth technology or financial services company a plus
• M&A integration or post-acquisition accounting experience a plus
• Proficiency with NetSuite or similar enterprise accounting systems; advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication
• Proactive, accountable, and change-oriented mindset
