Modem Software Engineer
Location: San Jose, CA (Onsite)
Duration: 12+ Months
The Semiconductor's Modem Software team is seeking Software Engineers with strong experience in cellular modem software, embedded systems, and wireless communications to help develop and commercialize next-generation modem technology for the North American market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and commercialize Samsung Exynos modem software for the North American market.
- Analyze field and test equipment logs, debug issues, and implement software fixes.
- Participate in new feature development, verification, and optimization.
- Improve embedded software performance and identify optimization opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to deliver end-to-end modem solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, Master\'s with 3+ years, or PhD with wireless communications experience.
- Strong C/C++ programming experience in embedded systems.
- Solid understanding of hardware abstraction layers (HAL) and embedded software concepts.
- Experience with 3GPP Layer 1 protocols and specifications.
- Knowledge of physical layer channels (PDCCH, PDSCH, PBCH) and downlink procedures.
- Understanding of Layer 2/3 protocols, especially MAC, RLC, PDCP, and RRC.
- Experience working with test equipment, log analysis, and debugging modem software.
- Ability to take ownership of features from development through commercialization.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
