Semiconductor Engineer for AI Model Training

Role Overview

Create rigorous semiconductor engineering problems that test expert judgment beyond textbook knowledge. This contract role focuses on situations where constraints, realistic data, and technical tradeoffs determine whether a solution is truly correct.

Key Responsibilities

• Design challenging problems in areas such as device physics, process integration, circuit design, lithography, packaging, yield, and reliability.
• Incorporate realistic constraints and supporting data, then provide the correct solution and reasoning.
• Define objective correctness criteria so independent expert reviewers can reach the same conclusion.
• Review other contributors'' problems for technical accuracy and sound methodology.
• Identify and flag problems that are ambiguous or cannot be graded reliably.

Qualifications

• Master''s or PhD in electrical engineering, materials science, applied physics, physics, or a closely related field.
• Principal-, staff-, or fellow-level experience at a major semiconductor company, or a faculty appointment at a leading university.
• Deep, hands-on expertise in at least one semiconductor subdomain.
• Ability to explain and validate why an engineering answer is correct, including recognizing plausible but incorrect approaches.
• Publications, patents, or demonstrated technical leadership are strongly preferred.
• AI or LLM evaluation experience is helpful but not required.

Compensation
