Security Technician

Title: Security Installation Technician

Duration: 6-month contract-to-hire

Location: Ashburn/Sterling area data centers

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Overtime: On average 10 hours/week, up to 10-20 hours/week as needed

Must-Haves:

• Tech II: 4-6 years commercial low-voltage or security installation experience
• Experience installing access control systems
• Experience installing and terminating card readers
• Experience pulling cable
• Experience with camera installations and camera positioning
• Comfortable working on active construction sites
• Strong work ethic and reliable attendance (must be on time for daily stretch & flex meetings)
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
• Ability to provide own basic hand tools (drill, strippers, screwdrivers, etc.)

Plusses:

• Experience with Software House access control systems
• Experience with CCURE security platforms
• Experience with Axis camera systems
• Experience with electronic cylinder/circle locks
• Experience with biometric access systems
• Prior data center project experience
• Team lead or crew lead experience (for Tech III candidates)
• Residential security experience transferable to commercial environments

Day-to-Day:

• Install and wire card readers
• Mount card readers and associated access control hardware
• Pull and dress low-voltage cabling
• Install, aim, and focus security cameras
• Apply camera labels and complete installation documentation
• Follow safety protocols and participate in daily stretch & flex meetings
• Support ongoing construction and security infrastructure projects

Job Description:

Insight Global is seeking a Security Installation Technician II/III for a leading critical infrastructure and technology solutions client. This individual will support the installation of physical security systems within data center environments, including access control devices, card readers, cameras, and low-voltage cabling. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with security installations, be comfortable working on construction sites, and possess a strong team-first attitude. Candidates with experience in Software House, CCURE, Axis cameras, biometric systems, or advanced access control technologies will stand out. Compensation:

$35/hr to $40/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
