The Consultant will update and maintain system documentation and operations manuals as needed and develop or enhance the use of hardware/software to improve the reliability and performance of systems and applications.Essential Duties & Responsibilities4.1 System AdministrationResponsible for all Operating System level functions across all devices.4.1.2 ServersSupports and performs system management functions for all assigned systems supporting the MWRA Security Network’s data processing environments.Development of scripts to perform administrative tasks.Development and implementation of preventative maintenance schedule and procedures.Development and implementation of End of Life replacement schedule and pro-cedures for system components.4.1.3 Storage, Backup and RecoveryResponsible for support of current storage and backup systems.Develops and implements backup scripts and jobs for all network systems.Conducts backups for current operating environment.Maintains onsite backup records and logs.Restores files and file systems as needed.Where appropriate, coordinates with the MWRA’s Security Equipment Maintenance and Repair Services Contractor to ensure function of storage devices.4.1.4 Applications - Provides application administration and technical support for software hosted on the network.Monitors End of Life/End of Support timeline for security software applications, and if appropriate, develops replacement strategy in coordination with the MWRA’s Security Equipment Maintenance and Repair Services Contractor.4.1.5 System SecurityAdminister Access Control Procedures utilizing principle of least privilege.Review current network and system designs for potential security improvements and communicate those findings to MWRA staff.Inventory MWRA Security Network assets.Perform audits of devices and logs.Ensure IoT Devices are properly and securely configured.4.1.6 Participates in and prepares for Disaster Recovery planning and test activities.4.1.7 Incident and Problem ManagementResponds to events, and reported outages to correct and resolve issuesInvestigates root cause and determines systemic solutions for identified environ-ment problems4.1.8 NetworkProvides administration and technical support for the network infrastructureWorks in close cooperation with the MWRA’s Security Equipment Maintenance and Repair Services Contractor and telecommunications service providers to en-sure function and security of network-connected devices.4.2 System DocumentationDocuments operating procedures to conform to MWRA standards, policies and procedures.Develops capacity management reports for capacity planning efforts.Documents system configurations for networks, servers and storage environments.Educates appropriate MWRA employees on system operation and function.4.3 System Performance Monitoring, Management and DesignKeeps abreast of the latest technologies and solutions, and provides expertise to the MWRA’s Security Department team and its contractor for Security Equipment Maintenance and Repair Services (Contract EXE-047) in evaluating and selecting appropriate solutions.Monitors networks, servers and storage for event management and coloration.Upon specific request, conduct research, and provide recommendations to assist the MWRA in planning for additional Security Network Data Centers and effective network communication techniques to expeditiously provide essential information to other MWRA business units.Kiran Kumar ARGYLL INFOTECH Inc Chicago, Illinois.
