Outcomes:

Responsibilities:
The Security Specialist serves as security point‑of‑contact for multiple contracts and performs tasks that contribute to team success. The ideal candidate will advance to Senior and/or Supervisory positions within Security through Gemini’s planned growth in the years ahead. Specific responsibilities include:
- Manage and maintain personnel security files and documents.
- Process initial, crossover, and PR clearance requests using DISS and e‑APP. PERSEC file and document management/control.
- Prepare, submit and track SCI nominations.
- Manage incoming and outgoing visitor control processes.
- Conduct and track initial, refresher and annual security training and briefings.
- Monitor and track security clearance via Defense Information System for Security (DISS) to ensure all personnel are properly accounted for along with compliance with applicable personnel security standards.
- Maintain awareness of changes to security regulations and other security issues.
- Anticipate and support quick‑response/time‑sensitive tasks to ensure streamlined operations and customer mission success.
- Identify and execute initiatives to promote company priorities, goals, and core values.
Qualifications:
The candidate must have the following qualifications:
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in security including six years as a security professional supporting Department of Defense programs
- DCSA FSO certification for possessing facilities and experience working as an Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO)
- Experience in at least four of the areas below:
- Working with managers to ensure clearance requirements and contingencies are met.
- Developing initial/refresher Security Briefings as well as other Security Education, Training and Awareness.
- Conducting periodic self‑inspections and audits.
- Issuing, tracking, and maintaining Prime and Sub DD254s.
- Developing and maintaining Security Policies, Procedures (SPP), and emergency response plans, and ensuring that they are communicated and followed throughout the organization; maintain awareness of changes to security regulations and other security issues.
- Coordinating personnel security clearance requirements with the Department of Defense (DoD), Intelligence Community (IC), and various government entities in support of SCI nominations to government customers and agencies.
- Strong Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) skills.
- Knowledge of 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM.
- Experience with the Defense Information System for Security (DISS), National Industrial Security System (NISS), e‑APP; National Background Investigation Services (NBIS).
- Experience with SharePoint and Teams.
Desired qualifications:
- Experience with Security Information Management System Software Modules: Cleared Personnel, Visitor Control, Locks and Key, Containers; Incidents; Facilities and Contracts.
- Direct experience as Facility Security Officer (FSO) and have completed DCSA FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities Certification and Insider Threat Program Management.
- In‑depth understanding of 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM and DD Form 254.
- Experience with Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).
