As a Security Officer State Run Facility in Willimantic, CT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. You will support access control and respond to alarm-related activity while working collaboratively with site personnel. • Wed 07:30 AM - 07:00 PM
• Thur 07:30 AM - 07:00 PM
• Fri 07:30 AM - 07:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at a government location by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of government buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization in accordance with site procedures, and direct individuals to appropriate offices or services.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify designated personnel and document actions taken according to established procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity and incident reports, maintain required logs, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
