Security Officer
A security officer is responsible for helping protect a client's physical, human and intellectual assets and deliver "legendary" customer service in the performance of their duties. Security officers are required to perform a wide range of duties based on the nuances of a client's property, the services agreement between the client and SecurAmerica and the post where the officer is to be assigned.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide "LEGENDARY and RESPONSIVE" customer service in representing SecurAmerica and the client based on site and post instructions.
- Help deter, deflect, detect, investigate and/or resolve all activity that could result in loss or liability for the customer including criminal incidents, fire hazards and safety conditions.
- Serve as a representative of the client in noticing and remedying any condition that could reflect poorly on the client's brand.
- Enforce client security, safety and fire/life safety rules, procedures and protocols.
- Maintain a high level of visibility, vigilance and professionalism while on post and while on patrol.
- Effectively and efficiently respond to client, contractor and visitor inquiries and service requests; graciously assist all parties as needed.
- Conduct proactive and comprehensive interior and exterior security patrols and inspections of the property.
- Immediately and appropriately respond to emergency situations according to specified protocols.
- Complete required reports, logs and paperwork in a timely method that meets or exceeds account quality standards.
- Fully comply with the terms of SecurAmerica's security services agreement, site post orders/procedures and client performance standards
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
EXPERIENCE
- Stable work history
- Previous customer service and/or security experience desired
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED
COMPETENCIES
- Excellent appearance and professional demeanor
- Good listening, verbal and written communication skills
- Sound judgment
- Computer literate and ability to use email, access the internet and use Microsoft Word
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be 21 years or older
- US Citizen
- Ability to successfully pass a thorough background investigation and drug test
- Valid driver's license
- Must meet all requirements to obtain a security officer's license (applicable in only those jurisdictions that require such a license)
