Security Officer – Per Diem

Serving at The Luskin Orthopedic Institute for Children gives you the opportunity to use your specialized skills to help improve the lives of our patients, their families, and your fellow team members. As a Security Officer, you'll provide the critical support that helps make healing possible — protecting our patients, visitors, staff, and property.

This is a per diem position: you'll be called in on an as-needed basis to cover shifts, holidays, or staffing gaps, and paid hourly for time worked. This role does not include guaranteed hours or benefits.

What You'll Do

• Deliver excellent customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out security procedures and site policies
• Respond to medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations calmly and professionally
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter
• Monitor access points, assist with directions and access control, and report policy violations or unusual conditions
• Complete incident reports, activity logs, and required documentation accurately

What You'll Need

• High school diploma or GED
• A current BSIS California Security Guard Card (required, must be maintained)
• 2 years of related security experience
• Ability to pass background check, references, and pre-employment physical
• Spanish fluency is a plus

Physical Demands

Frequent standing/walking, stair climbing, bending, kneeling; occasional reaching; frequent lifting/moving up to 50 lbs; ability to push/pull patient wheelchairs. Reasonable accommodations available per ADA.
