Position: Security Officer
Primary Function
To provide a safe and orderly atmosphere in alignment with the mission and core values of the company.
Essential Responsibilities
- Protect the interests of the Casino, the safety of guests and team members by prevention, detection, and investigation of any crimes. Maintain order on Casino premises by diligently observing individuals as they enter and leave the Casino, monitoring parking lots, detailed accident investigations, and escorting guests and team members as needed.
- Report any suspicious financial activity observed to the Casino Shift Manager and/or Compliance Department.
- Conduct physical surveillance to observe and document possible suspicious activity, as requested by the Casino Shift Manager or Compliance Department.
- Review surveillance tapes as requested by the Casino Shift Manager and/or Compliance Department in connection with investigations of suspicious activity.
- Attend annual BSA/AML training, as scheduled.
- Monitor and coordinate with the CSM or General Manager the enforcement of the Problem Gambling policies and procedures.
- Monitor and coordinate with the CMDH the enforcement of all the principles of RABs (Responsible Alcohol Beverage Service) and Stones Alcohol Consumption policy.
- Monitor and coordinate enforcement of the age limit requirements of "21 and over" on the gaming floor and Stones ID Checking policy. Report to CMDH or Security Supervisor any individuals in the casino who appear to be underage.
- Monitor and coordinate with the CMDH the enforcement of the policies and procedures of the Stones Injury Illness & Prevention Plan.
- Work with outside agencies when necessary, such as testifying in court, participating in criminal investigations, detaining or arresting persons physically, provide emergency first aid in appropriate situations.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to secure Casino premises by unlocking doors at scheduled times, transferring “collection boxes” to areas of confined space.
- Report unsafe practices or hazardous conditions to the CSM, Security Shift Supervisor or Casino Manager.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED is required. A minimum of 1 year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred, but not required. Knowledge of modern Security practices and controlling laws and ordinances are preferred. Must be able to analyze and take appropriate action when necessary, and know the rules and regulations of the security department.
Licensing
Must possess a current California Driver License, Guard Card with a minimum of 24 hours of training and CPR Card.
Language Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills are required. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or team members of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Basic math skills. Ability to accurately calculate addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in an efficient manner.
Reasoning Ability
The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Conditions of Employment
- Must be able successfully pass a thorough background check in order to obtain a Gaming License.
- Must be able to renew and maintain an active Gaming License according to the city’s requirements.
- Must be able to renew and maintain an active Guard Card from the State of California according to the State’s requirements.
